At Home Falls and Balance Rehabilitation
There are many reasons why our balance becomes problematic or why we fall, our assessments help to diagnose the issue and our treatment plans help to improve your balance and prevent future falls. We also treat those who have not had a fall but are fearful of falling.
In-Home Assessments: We begin with a thorough assessment of your balance, strength, mobility, and home environment. This allows us to identify potential hazards and develop strategies to make your home safer and more conducive to rehabilitation.
Personalised Rehabilitation Programs: Based on our assessment findings and your individual goals, we create customised rehabilitation programs designed to address your specific needs. Whether you're recovering from a fall, managing a chronic condition, or seeking preventive care, we provide targeted interventions to help you regain independence and confidence.
Fall Prevention Strategies: Our physiotherapists educate you and your loved ones or caregivers on effective fall prevention strategies tailored to your home environment. From simple modifications to more complex interventions, we empower you to minimise the risk of falls and improve your independence.
Strength and Balance Exercises: We incorporate evidence-based exercises targeting strength, balance, and coordination into your rehabilitation program. These exercises are designed to improve muscle tone, stability, and functional mobility, ultimately reducing the risk of falls and enhancing overall quality of life.
Gait Training: We offer gait training sessions to improve your walking pattern, stride length, and posture. Through targeted exercises and gait retraining techniques, we help you achieve smoother, more confident walking and reduce the risk of stumbling or tripping.
Home Safety Recommendations: In addition to providing hands-on treatment, we offer practical recommendations to optimise your home environment for safety and accessibility. This may include suggestions for assistive devices, home modifications, and ergonomic improvements to support your rehabilitation goals.
Onwards Referrals: If we think there may be an underlying cause to your balance changes or falls, we will discuss this with you and can refer you to your GP or a consultant who can provide an even more indepth assessment and diagnosis.
